Time to learn, time to grow

Maren:
September is here and summer is coming to a close.  To wrap up our summer we got a special trip with mommy (daddy was out of town on a hunting trip) over to Rocky Point on Klamath Lake.  Dr. Frank, mommy's old boss has a cabin on the lake that they just rebuilt.  We used to go visit there quite a bit but haven't been in years... and it was really a beautiful surprise.  They tore down the cabin and totally rebuilt it!  It was a really nice cabin and we had a wonderful time.  We spent lots of time on the water in the canoe and on paddle boards, we took a nice walk with the dogs each morning before it got hot, and we had a daily trip to the little store to get ice cream!  Dr. Frank also had a puzzle out on the table, a really difficult one of Venice, that he asked mommy to finish.  Well, we got really into it and ended up completing it!
School started right after our trip to the lake... and while I was excited, I was also a bit nervous.  I was mostly looking forward to seeing all of my friends because I really missed them but I was also nervous because I have a new teacher this year.  We met Miss Neinhaus before school ended last year but after being so attached to Ms. Van Blom, I wasn't quite sure.  Thankfully, it was very apparent after just a few days that I was going to love her too and my outlook on the year definitely improved.

Maddox:
As sissy mentioned, we had a really nice trip over to Rocky Point to finish summer off.  It was a really restful weekend and we had a lot of really great one on one time with mommy.  Ms. Jenny ended up coming up one of the days and spent some time on the water with us paddle boarding.  I loved spending time in Dr. Frank's hard shell kayak because I could take my doggo with me!  It was a perfect way to wrap up our summer before starting school again and working hard.
For us school always starts the Tuesday after Labor Day.  This year I am in second grade and once again have Ms. Jenny as my teacher.  This will be my third and final year with her in the CAMP program before moving to the next classroom.  I was a bit sad to start school this year because my best buddy Chase has moved into the next class and I was worried that I would really miss him.  Thankfully I do get to see him every day for recess and we still get a lot of time together.  I also my buddy Summit still with me, Xavier Clelland came back to the program, and I have gained a few new friends in the incoming kindergarten class.  So, in the end, it has been a successful start to the school year.
In the middle of September mommy went on a short trip to meet Aunt Kristy and her girls in Spokane.  It was a short weekend trip and they went to a concert (some guy named Sam Hunt... guess they even met him in the airport on their way home) and just had lots of fun together.
