Christmas!!!
Christmas Day was pretty spectacular! I was still sick and feeling pretty under the weather so I'm not sure I had as much fun as I could have... But still, it was pretty amazing. Mommy said I was spoiled rotten... Not sure what that means really but if it has anything to do with all the cool toys I got, it can't be all that bad! I woke up at 5:30 on Christmas morning because mommy kept talking about Santa bringing me all kinds of great gifts. I can't really say Santa all that well so I just call him "Saucy" instead! He seems like a pretty cool guy... Brought me a kitchen of my very own so I can make fun snacks with mommy, a brand new balance bike, and all kinds of other cool stuff. I had the most presents under the tree and it took me all day to open them! I had to take a break every now and then cuz I got a bit overwhelmed and tired. So, I would curl up with the new "night-night" mommy made me, my new monkey from Auntie C, and watch a little bit of Curious George.
A trip to Nonna and Nono's house
Last week for Christmas I got to go visit my Nonna and Nono. Unfortunately, the day we left, I came down with a cold and had a fever. I wasn't feeling my best but I sure was excited to see them and I had lots of fun with all the Christmas preparations. I got to help Nonna bake, wrap presents, and clean the bath tub. I helped Nono play in the yard and showed him how to make a great hat from a hand bag (cuz he loves hats sooooo much)!

It's getting closer!!
Christmas is almost here and it just keeps getting more and more exciting around here!! This last week was my mommy's birthday and I got to go over to my friend Jaces's house for the evening. Miss Heather was nice to watch me so mommy and daddy could go to dinner. Jace and I had a lot of fun playing and we even practiced our potty training together!!
Then, this weekend we went to mommy's work Christmas party and I was the entertainment for the night! I had so much fun helping everyone unwrap their gifts and I got to make a huge gingerbread cookie that Miss Cindy got for me. I giggled and danced and laughed all night long but then I didn't want to go to sleep! Mommy finally got me to sleep just after midnight which she was NOT happy about.
Today I helped mommy get ready for our trip to Nonna and Nono's house during the day. We did lots of laundry and packed our bags... which got me super excited! Santa Clause wasn't helping at all, so i kept putting him in a time out! Miss Heather and Jace came over in the evening and we got to celebrate Christmas with them. I helped mommy wrap Jaces' present and I was really excited when I got my gift from them. Miss Heather made me a really nice apron, got me my very own set of kitchen tools to help cook with mommy, and a really great cookbook full of fun recipes. Tomorrow morning we leave for Nonna's house and the excitement will really begin. Only a few more days until Christmas!!

Hurry Santa!!!
Wow! Have we been busy around here! There has been a lot of talk about Christmas, Jesus' birthday, and Santa... All of it seems pretty exciting! Mommy, Daddy, and I (plus a whole bunch of friends) spent the day out in the woods searching for the perfect tree. Even though I had a lot of fun I was pretty frustrated by my stupid mittens and didn't want to wear them at all. The temperature was around 15 degrees so as you can imagine my fingers were like ice cubes. It hurt really bad and I spent a lot of time really upset about it. In the end, our day was a success and mommy picked us a beautiful (but really big!) tree! After we got home from tree hunting and mommy had put me to bed, she and daddy stayed up really late decorating our house to look like a winter wonderland! You can imagine my surprise the next morning when I woke up to find all of the beautiful decorations. Mommy was so busy watching my face that she forgot to take pictures and daddy was busy running the video camera!
Then... As if all of that wasn't enough... My Nonna and Nono came to visit me! Nonna and mommy spent a whole day hanging snowflakes up around the house which made it even prettier. My favorite part was when I got to help make and decorate sugar cookies! I even got to have "champagne" with mommy and Nonna! For some reason mommy kept calling it sparkling water... I don't know the difference really but I know the pretty glass and raspberries made me feel very special! While Nonna and Nono were here I got to go and visit Santa too! I wasn't really scared but I preferred to keep my distance.
Then... This last weekend daddy planned a special surprise for mommy and we all went up to a cabin at Hyatt Lake to celebrate her birthday! Our good friends Marc, Heather, and Jace came too! Jace and I had a lot of fun playing up in the loft but then I fell and hurt myself pretty bad so we weren't allowed to go up there anymore. We still had lots of fun... Like sledding in the snow, drinking hot cocoa, and eating a birthday cake that I made especially for mommy!!

So Thankful!
Next week is Thanksgiving and we are all ready for the holiday. Mommy has the house all decorated, the shopping list all made, and lots of goodies in store!! My Pica and Grammie are coming to visit and they are bringing their three little doggies. It's gonna be a full house but it will be lots of fun. Today at school we made Native American hats that got me in the mood for the holiday. We sure have a lot to be thankful for!

Happy Halloween!!
Halloween was a few days ago and it was great fun! I got to (help) carve a pumpkin... That was yucky business! Then my Nonna got me all dressed up like a Punk Rocker, my mommy met us after work and we all went to a Harvest Party that our church was throwing. There were hundreds of people there and lots of kids... They had games to play, a petting zoo, pony rides (those were my favorite and I just kept wanting to go again and again), and bounce houses. My good friend Jace really liked the bounce house but I was a bit too scared to go inside so I just watched. It was a great night and I am already planning my costume for next year!!

I love fall!!
Today I helped my mommy rake leaves in the back yard. Since we have 40 acres there are a LOT of leaves out there! Daddy thought we were crazy cuz he has a leaf blower but mommy said we were doing it for fun. She kept saying something about "the added benefit of good exercise", but I don't know what that means. She raked and raked... I only played in them for about 5 minutes before I was on to something else.

I'm a super hero (with killer nails)!!!
My Nonna and Nono came to visit while my daddy is gone hunting which means that I am all fired up and excited! I found a cape in my Nonna's bag, she brought it just in case I needed a hair cut, but I used if to try out my best super hero impersonation! It made me super fast, super invisible, and super super cute!! My Nonna also brought my mommy some really pretty nail polish and mommy let me paint my nails for the very first time... Check out my work!

Mmmmmm!
Today I got to help my mommy make banana nut bread! I LOVE to do anything with my mommy and I really am a huge help. Daddy, uncle Frankie, and Ryan leave in a few days for their big hunting trip and mommy wanted them to have a special treat... So we started baking! I got to dump everything in the mixer for mommy and she even let me crack the eggs! That was my favorite part! Well, except for eating the yummy bread!

Here we go!
Hey everyone! This is Maren (aka The Scoots, Scootie Poot). Can you believe that I am almost 26 months old now? Crazy right? My mommy started this blog thing so that I could share some fun stories with all of you. This is our first post and we hope to keep it updated weekly, so let's see... We were making birthday and thank you cards the other day with some watercolors... I really love to paint! My mommy was painting my hands so that I could make hand prints when she put a spot of paint on my nose. Well, that gave me a great idea! If hand prints are fun, nose prints would be really fun! This is a picture right before I made a really nice nose print. Mommy said that I may have gotten carried away with the paint but if that is the case, why was she laughing so hard?
