Happy Birthday Daddy!

Maren:
We have been having some nice relaxing time at home and just spending time together as a family.  Miss Heather and Daddy both had birthdays so we got to have a big party at our house for them.  We had a really nice barbeque with lots of yummy food and of course... birthday cake!  My favorite part!  Mommy and I made a really yummy chocolate-peanut butter ice cream cake and it was delicious!  We put pink candles on one side for Miss Heather (cuz her birthday is two days before daddys) and blue candles on the other for daddy!  We bought daddy lots of fun presents and I made him a beautiful card.
Nonna and Nonno are back at our house because Nonna had her other "owie" knee fixed.  Nonno and I had a rather funny conversation the other night that went like this:
Nonno: Maren, are your chickens all grown up?
Maren:  Not yet.  Daddy calls them teen-agers.
Nonno: Do you know how old you have to be to be a teen-ager?
Maren: No...
Nonno: You have to be 13 years old.
At this point Nonna steps in to help and says: Maren you are three years old.  Hayden, your cousin is 10 years old.  In three years he will be a teen-ager.
Maren:  Why him going to be a chicken???

Maddox:
I am getting bigger and bigger every day and am such a good baby!  I have been sleeping longer and longer at night which is nice for everyone.  In fact, the other night I slept for 11 hours straight!  Mommy was so excited but then I fooled her by going back to my old routine of 4-5 hours at a time.  The doctor still says that that is really good for a little one my age so mommy wasn't too disappointed.
I spend a lot of time talking now, especially to my mommy and I absolutely love to chew on my fingers and hands!  The other day I noticed a funny thing attached to the bottom of my leg (mommy called it a foot) and I stared at it for a really long time.

Family time

Maren:
We are home from Nonna and Nonno's house and mommy says its time to relax a bit. I guess she has to go back to work pretty soon so she says we need to spend some time at home together winding down and getting back into a routine.
Aunt Kristy came to visit for a couple of days and we had lots of fun. Mommy didn't take too many pictures because I spent lots of time with daddy so mommy could hang out with her friend.
We have had some nice time at home hanging out together as a family and doing projects around the house.  Mommy and I found a big patch of dandelions, we sat down, and blew and blew and blew! Seeds were flying everywhere!  My daddy bought me a really cool swing made out of a tire... But it looks like a horsie... And he hung it in a tree for me! I have been havin g a blast swinging on it.  We got some more new peep-peeps (we have 14 now) and our others are growing up really fast.  My daddy calls them " teenagers"!

Maddox:
I really have enjoyed being home with just mommy, daddy, and sissy this last week. We did have one visitor, Aunt Kristy, but she snuggled me so good that I didn't mind!
The weather has been nice enough for mommy to take me outside on walks and I really like it! We go visit daddy wherever he is working on the property so that I can get snuggle time with him (mommy is trying to get me used to him before she goes back to work... Right now I really don't want him to hold me too much).

A trip, a visit from the Easter Bunny, and special Aunties

Maren:
This last week when my Nonna and Nonno went home... they took me with them!  I got to go to their house like a big girl without my mommy and daddy!  I had my own bed room with my very own bed, I took walks with my Nonno, and helped my Nonna do all of the cooking!  A few days later my mommy came down to stay for a few days too since Easter is coming up.  When she came down we did all kinds off fun things.  We played new games, baked and decorated brownies for Easter, AND I got to color eggs for the very first time!  I had a blast doing that and only broke one egg!  One day we went to a friend of Nonna's to ride horses.  I got to ride a really big horse named Dyson.  I liked it a lot and decided we definitely need one to take home with us!
Nonno's son Weston and his family came for the Easter weekend and I had a lot of fun playing with Kaitlyn (she is 10 and I followed her everywhere!).  The Easter Bunny was really good to me again this year and brought me a beautiful Elsa dress, some brand new flip flops, the Cinderella movie, and a bunch of other fun stuff.  That crazy bunny hid all of our colored eggs all over the house and I had to find them all!  Then, I made my mommy hide them over and over and over and over again!  What fun!
The day after Easter my Great Aunt Sue and Great Aunt Evie (sisters of my G.G.) came over for dinner.  I sang "Let it Go" for them and showed them my pretty Elsa dress.  Of course they thought I was adorable!

Maddox:
This last week I have gotten a lot of one on one time with my mommy and daddy because sissy went on a trip!  I even helped them paint her room as a surprise for when she comes home!  I laid on the bed and talked the whole time they painted like a good little boy!
One night we had a fire out in the fire pit and I sat with mommy and daddy while they had some grown up time.  It was pretty cold out side so mommy had me all bundled up in a snow suit!  I looked so darn cute and cuddly!
Then, mommy and I loaded up the car and headed down to Nonna and Nonno's house to spend a few days.  We hit the road right at nap time and I slept from the time mommy loaded my into the car until after we made it there!  Mommy made it in record time of 4 hours and never had to stop to feed me!  I am such a good traveler!
We had a great Easter weekend at Nonna's house and I got lots of love and attention.  I'm not so sure that I enjoyed being dressed up like a bunny and stuffed in a basket but everyone else thought I was adorable!
I got to meet lots of new people this weekend and especially loved the hugs and kisses from my Great Auntie's and Great Uncle Bill.
