Maren:
The winter weather is still with us and we are getting lots of rain and some occasional snow at the house. Maddox and I have been having some serious sibling rivalry lately but we are working hard at figuring it out. Mommy had a brilliant idea to make a special team for us. We are cadets in the Team Rogers Army! We even have our own handshake that we do every morning before mommy leaves for work. We gather together for a gentle reminders about what we use our hands for (gentle touching) and what we use our mouths for (kind words) as well as reminders about the importance of a team. Our eyes sparkle as we talk about the team and it has made a huge improvement in our attitudes towards one another.
Valentines day was full of love, as always, and mommy surprised us with our annual blog book. We also got some really special treats called "Cocoa Bombs!" They are big, hollow chocolate balls that are filled with cocoa powder and marshmallows. When you poor really hot milk over the top of them they pop open to reveal all the yummy goodness inside! I was absolutely amazed by it so mommy decided to figure out how to make them. She got all of the goodies for us and we made some of our very own. The first ones I made didn't turn out really pretty but by the second batch we had it pretty well mastered!
Nonnos birthday is in February and we always share a great meal with them. Of course we took the traditional photo of us kiddos sitting on his lap and sharing the first piece of cake. We sure love our Nonno!
Maddox:
Because of all of the rain at home the mountains have been getting some snow. Knowing that the weather could change soon we decided to head up to Hyatt Lake and Table Mountain for one last snow trip. We packed our great new sledding tubes and a bunch of food and ended up running into the Trautz family right when we showed up! What a great surprise it was for us! We had a great time playing with Jace and Bella all day long. We had some epic snow ball fights and some great sledding runs.
I have recently found my inner artistic side and am a blossoming artist. With a little help from some tutorials on YouTube I have been drawing all sorts of things! I have drawn a picture of Abraham Lincoln, Albert Einstein, the Mandalorian, Captain America... and more! There are great little tutorials that I can follow along with and sister is even joining me. Taking my art one step further I decided that I would be mommys little assistant when she painted our living room wall blue. I was a great help to her and sister and did quite a bit of painting with them. After we were done with the living room I even designed my own house out of cardboard and painted it to match the new living room color!
