A Beauty and A Beast!

Maren:
Mommy's time off is coming to an end but it has been a wonderful month having her home.  Unfortunately she caught a really bad cold but managed to venture out to take me to the new Beauty and The Beast movie.  I got all dressed up in my Belle costume and mommy did my hair so that it looked just like Belle's.  We picked up Nonna and had a very nice time at the movie.... it was so magical and beautiful!  I love a good princess movie!
My good buddy Jace just had a really special birthday.  He is finally 5 just like me!  I am so excited that we are the same age now!  Our mommies have been telling us that we would be starting kindergarten when Jace turned 5... I can't quite understand why it doesn't start next week!  He is 5 afterall!! Oh well.  That just puts us one step closer!  Mommy and I actually dropped off my registration paperwork the other day.  I was very excited to visit my new school but a little intimidated by all of the kids running around.  I'm officially a Rogue River Elementary River Hawk now!
When Jace turned 5 his mommy and daddy threw a great party for him.  He wanted a Robin Hood themed party which was a lot of fun.  Miss Heather and Mr. Marc made us each a bow and arrow and we shot at a target they had set up for us.  Then, a few of the daddy's stepped up to be our moving targets!  My arrow doesn't go very far but I'm having lots of fun practicing.  Then, they set up an awesome obstacle course for us to play in/on.  It was a bit rainy and cold that day so all of us kiddos ended up pretty muddy, but we didn't care.  We had a blast!

Maddox:
This last week has been a lot of fun.  Mommy is starting to talk about going back to work which is a bummer but that means I can go back to school and play with friends.  I am in underwear all of the time now, even at nap (mommy is still a bit scared to not put me in a diaper at night, even though I have been waking up dry for a month now).and mommy is gonna send me to school in underwear too!  I'm such a big boy!
I like to be naked at home a lot, or at least just take my pants off.  I now officially refer to my little pee-pee as my "snake" which is pretty funny!  The other day when I was wearing my Spider Man costume I had a bit of a malfunction and my "snake" made a guest appearance at dinner.  Mommy and sissy laughed pretty hard.  I thought it was funny too!
Sissy told you all about Jace's fun birthday party.  I had a blast too and even tried my hand at the obstacle course.  I didn't really want to climb through the tunnel but I did all of the rest with a little help from mommy and daddy.  I spent the majority of the day on the tractor... its my favorite thing at their house and mommy had to tear me off of it kicking and screaming to get me to go home.
I am getting to be so big and am learning lots of manners.  I am really polite and will say "excuse me" when I want to get by and when I toot (though I have to laugh a bit first)!

Party time! Mommy's home for a month!

Maren:
Mommy came home from the hospital and it is great to have her home.  Because of her surgery, she has to take some time off of work and we are really happy to have her home.  Even though she is home she still has to rest a lot so brother and I are spending lots of time with Nonna, Nonno, and daddy.  Mommy still tries to get little bits of time with us when she can.  She spends lots of time snuggling on the couch, reading us books, and watching us play in the playroom.  We've done lots of finger nail painting (we even painted Mackie dogs!) and taking short walks over to the chicken coop.
While mommy was home for the month, I got to go on another date with daddy to another dance!  This time mommy did my nails and curled my hair for me and she did a really great job. I was really scared of the hot curling iron and the way the hot hair felt on my skin but I loved the beautiful ringlets she made.
As the weather gets a bit nicer we have been able to be outside and fire season is in full swing!  We have had a few nights by the fire, roasting hot dogs and making smores!  One of my favorite things to do on a nice evening.  We've had a our share of rain with spring which means walks and puddle splashing!  My brother is already a pro at it but I had to show him how to really do it!
Mommy and I broke out the box of Easter decorations one day when brother was napping.  I took my time decorating the Easter Egg tree and think it is beautiful.  I am excited for spring and wish it was Easter today!

Maddox:
It has been really nice having mommy home.  We have been going to Nonna's house quite a bit, to give mommy a break to rest but I still really like having her around all of the time.  Mommy can't carry me around but she spends a lot of time on the floor with us or we spend time with her on the bed.  I've been getting lots of snuggle time and you can never go wrong with that.  On the night that sissy got to go to another dance with daddy I got some good one on one time with mommy.  We had a great night together... we played games, did puzzles, had a yummy dinner of my choice (Mac-and-Cheese of course), and homemade banana ice cream.  I wanted to be naked most of the night, except my "work gloves", hat and boots.  Mommy got a real kick out of me.
I have enjoyed having our family nights by the fire.  I am a bit afraid of the fire and I keep telling mommy and daddy, " No throw me in the fire!"  I don't want to sit too close and I definitely don't want to roast my hot dog, preferring instead to eat them raw!  Which mommy and daddy think is really gross!  Mommy made me my very first smore... which I only ate a few bites of before running off to play.  So, with our second fire, mommy made me a plain old roasted marshmallow.  I ate one bite of that and spit it out.
Another fun thing about spring is all of the rain and puddles that come with it!  I don't mind being outside even if its raining!  If I see a puddle you can be sure that I'm gonna splash in it!
I am rocking the potty training... and darn near there.  I rarely wear a pull up any more when I am at home, in fact I don't even wear one when I take a nap.  I tell mommy and daddy when I need to go potty and am even going out on outings without a pull up!  I have woken up dry for weeks now!  Mommy and daddy are so very proud of me!
