Happy Quiet Thanksgiving

 Maren:

November was a quiet month for us.  We are in to a good routine with school and home most of the time.  Mommy has been really working hard to get us places on the weekend so we can have a break.  I get to the ranch frequently and we sometimes get to the Oppelts.  When we are at Nonnas house we get to see Irie for some kiddo play time too.

One of our weekends home mommy, Maddox and I made bread.  I LOVE to do the kneading!  I have been a huge help in the kitchen and loved helping mommy get ready for Thanksgiving.  Pica being here was really nice and we loved getting all the one on one time with him.  I read him books, we played lots of games, and I gave him a couple of massages while he napped in the chair.  The morning after Thanksgiving our Elf Sparkle showed up again!  The second night she was there she played a prank and wrote on Pica's face.  Maddox was the first to notice the writing and boy!  You should have seen his face!  We thought that was a very funny prank.

Maddox:

Although things are going with school sissy and I are going a bit stir crazy and are really in need of some time away from one another.  Mommy has been working really hard at getting us time out and about away from the house, time with friends, and time apart.  One day this month, we dropped sissy at the ranch and mommy and I went to the green way for a walk/bike ride.  I dressed in my best for our little outing together, I even wore a bow tie!  We had a great time, the day was beautiful and I got a special smoothie afterwards.  I have had a few get togethers with my good buddy Wyatt too.  That has been really good for me to go and play.  Not all of my time with sissy is bad.  She and I have been having lots of fun playing dress up and have made our own Mandalorian costumes.  Mommy had the brilliant idea to make a helmet using an OxiClean box.   Then, using some other random boxes around the house we made our blasters for our back.

Pica came for Thanksgiving again this year and we had a really wonderful time.  Unfortunately daddy was exposed to Covid the day before his arrival and couldn't come home.   While we missed him terribly, it gave us the opportunity for some really great one on one time with Pica.  He made lots of jokes that made me laugh and he even played rough with me a few times.  I really loved having him here!

Making the best of fall

Maren:

October is here and we are a month in to our new school profile.  We are making the very best of it that we can!  I am still really liking my class and my teacher and really appreciate some of the fun things we are doing.  My teacher sent me home with a Snap Circuit set and I have gotten to build some really cool circuits.

Mommy has been working really hard at trying to get us play dates so we can see friends.  I have to admit that Maddox and I are getting a bit tired of one another.  We have been able to get to the Oppelts a few times and have the girls over to our place as well.  It has been a good respite from my little brother!  I also have been going to the ranch at least once a week which is also helpful.

October means fall... leaves... pumpkins... and Halloween!  One beautiful Friday mommy took us to Fort Vannoy Farms and their pumpkin patch.  We got to ride their Cow Train, an annual favorite for us, and pick out our pumpkins.  Mommys rule... if we can carry it, we can pick it!  I picked one pumpkin to carve and one pumpkin to paint for our school pumpkin contest.  We have been asked to decorate a pumpkin like a literary character and I chose Harry Potter.  I did all of the work myself for both the carving and the painting!

With Covid this year there were a lot of rumors that trick or treating may not happen.  Because we were unsure, mommy decided we should have our very own Halloween Party.  Both Maddox and I loved that idea!  Mommy put together some really fun games, we ate a lot of really great food, and I got to see my friend Anna too!  Our vote... parties are better than trick or treating!  For my costume I decided that I wanted to be Belle from Beauty and the Beast.  Because Belle has really dark hair I asked mommy if we could dye mine to match.  She got all of the stuff and it turned out really nice... but then, my friend Anna showed up dressed like a cowgirl!  My Belle costume was quickly replaced by my own cowgirl get-up!

Maddox:

I really love fall and Halloween.  Like sissy said, we got to go to the pumpkin patch and pick out a few pumpkins.  Mommy had to help me carve mine but I drew the shapes and design all by myself.  We also decorated a pumpkin like a character from one of our favorite books.  I chose to decorate the pumpkin like Marshall from the Paw Patrol.  Mommy helped me draw the shapes on the pumpkin but I did all of the painting all by myself.  I was super proud of how it all turned out.
Like sissy said, we decided to have a Halloween party this year.  I dressed up like my favorite super hero, Captain America!  My buddy Wyatt came, so did Dominick and we all had a great time together.  Initially we didn't want to play the games mommy had set up but after some convincing we got into it and had a really fun time and giggled lots.  We also wanted to dress Jolene up so mommy painted her like a skeleton!  She wasn't very fond of the process but was super good and stood really still while mommy painted her.  She looked very spooky when she was all done and scared daddy when he saw her the first time!
Sissy mentioned that we were kind of getting sick of one another so mommy has been trying really hard to get us out of the house and away from each other and to bring friends over to our place.  I have been getting some really good play time with Caleb and Wyatt as a result.
I am really a sweet boy and like to give my mommy compliments. As I get bigger, my compliments get better and better. Some of the compliments I’ve given her in the past are “I love you more than the toilet” and “You’re prettier than a bull”!  Good thing that mommy knows they’re from the heart! The other day I gave her one of the best compliments ever when I said “You’re prettier than a Super Bowl girl!”
I also have been know to say some really interesting words and phrases that I make up.  My newest song I sing: Deansin Didgie Cos Bouquet Fa La La La La La La!!
