Maren:
This last week we celebrated Easter and Jesus' birthday. We started the weekend with egg coloring! My best buddy Jace came over, he had never colored eggs before, and we had lots of fun. We colored desings on the eggs with crayons and then dyed them pretty colors!
Because my daddy had to work on Easter morning, my mommy send the Easter Bunny a note asking her to come early! So, she came Saturday for us! When I woke up there were eggs hidden all over the house. She hid mine up high but left a bunch down low for baby brother. She is truly amazing, that silly Easter Bunny, she knows exactly what to bring for me! I got a brand new beautiful Elsa costume with the most beautiful snow flake shoes to match! I got a brand new Ariel swim suit, some new flip flops and sun glasses, and a Minnie doll that is dressed like a bunny! Of course I got some candy too and mommy even let me have some jelly beans before breakfast.
Daddy was working easter Day so mommy, baby rother, and I went to church with Nonna. We went to visit daddy afterwards so he could see me in my beautiful dress. The Easter Bunny had hid eggs for me all over the station too! Then we went back to Nonna and Nonnos house for a really yummy dinner. We played outside for awhile and hid eggs over and over again.
Maddox:
This is my second Easter, but I'm not sure if I will remember it any more than the first! I know my sissy sure had a lot of fun and I enjoyed finding eggs all over the house. The Easter Bunny filled all of my eggs with Cheerios and raisins! I would find and egg, open it up and munch away until they were all gone!
We had a nice Easter with Nonna and Nonno and a super yummy dinner. I enjoyed my time outside practicing my walking skills while my sissy rode her bike and hunted for eggs.

Busy month
Maren:
This month is super busy with holidays... Last week was St. Patrick's Day and Easter is just around the corner. For St. Patty's Day we had corned beef and cabbage, and I loved it! The craziest part about that day was the leprechaun that was loose in our house! He was magic and kept turning things green!! Every time someone would pour a drink, like my milk, it would turn green! The silly little man also turned my daddies teeth green (mommy said that he pooped in daddy's mouth)!
This last week I also had my Easter party and program at school. I got to dress up in a pretty dress and sang some really fun songs. My mommy, Nonna, and baby brother came to watch me.
My best buddy Jace turned 4 this last weekend and we went to a fun party at his house. They had the party down by their creek, built a big campfire so we could roast hot dogs and s'mores, and had a yummy cake! We even went on a fun scavenger hunt that my mommy helped me complete.
Maddox:
Even though I have been dabbling with this thing called walking, it is not until the last few days that I have really taken off. I finally have my legs figured out and when I fall down I get right back up again instead of just crawling. I still quite unstable so I'm completely adorable as I wobble around!
I got to attend my sisters Easter program a few days ago. I can't say I was that interested, though I did dance to the music a bit. I think my favorite part was when everyone would clap at the end of a song! I would giggle and smile every time!
We also got to go to Jace's 4th birthday party last weekend. I had an absolute blast and was a complete disaster by the end of it all. Since it was a camping themed birthday it was outdoors and my mommy and daddy let me crawl everywhere! I even got to have my very own piece of birthday cake!!

The Princesses first Ball
Maren:
Last weekend I was treated like a princess! My daddy took me to my very first dance. I picked out my dress, one my GiGi made for my mommy when she was a little girl, even though mommy offered to buy me a brand new one. The night of the dance mommy spent lots of time making me look beautiful. She painted my nails to match my dress, let me wear some sparkly eye shadow, and did my hair. Daddy gave me a pretty corsage and I gave him a boutineere to wear. He took me to a nice dinner (I had Mac-n-Cheese of course) and then we danced! I even won a hula-hoop contest while we were there! Definitely a night I will remember.
A few days later we celebrated St. Patrick's Day and there was a tricky leprechaun loose in our house! That silly little man turned everything green! I was amazed by his magic! Every time my mommy or daddy would pour a drink it would turn bright green! My mommy and daddy kept spotting him running around our house... silly little mischief maker. He even turned my daddys teeth bright green (mommy said that he pooped in daddy's mouth)! When I went to bed that night I was a bit worried about him being in our house but mommy made me feel lots better.

Heres a funny story: The other day my mommy was giving herself a pedicure. She let me help shave off some of her yucky calluses which I thought was really fun (I'm a big picker)!! Later that night after I took a tubby, mommy looked over to find me slathering my feet with lots of lotion. When she asked me why I was using so much I said "I don't want to get cavities on my feet like you mommy!"
Maddox:
Lots of fun stuff happening around our house and fun adventures! I am spending lots of time with my Nonna and Nonno (Nonna comes and picks us up from school a lot) and more time with mommy's good friend Heather (I really liked their rocking horse when we visited the other day).
I still like to help my mommy a lot when she is doing chores around the house. I love helping her in the kitchen! The other day she got a new crock pot... I helped her figure out that it was just the right size!
I also finally had my one year pictures taken! Mommy has been waiting out the run of colds I have had (snotty noses don't make for very nice pictures), the bruises on my forehead, and the little cut above my eye. I wasn't too sure about the lady taking pictures of me but she got a few good shots.

We got a walker!
Maren:
Last week I asked my mommy: "Mommy, when are we going to ride bikes on the freeway again?" I meant the greenway of course, but mommy sure got a kick out of that! So, she decided we needed to go. I got to take my bike and we had a really nice walk. We have also been walking down to the mailbox a lot but its a bit to far for my bike since it is uphill the whole way home.
Spring is in the air and mommy and daddy have been busy! I try to help out whenever I can... Washing windows, feeding the chickens, taking care of the new baby peep-peeps we got... I love to help!
Having Nonna and Nonno close by sure is nice. My Nonna has been helping take me to swim lessons on the days my mommy and daddy work. I usually get to stay the night with them the night before and then I get to go home with them after swim! We got to take Nonno's fancy mustang the other day and I really liked the fancy seats!
Nonno's birthday fell during the weekend that we were at the cabin in the snow. They happened to be out of town that weekend too so we celebrated it a bit late. We had a nice birthday dinner at our house and Nonno's favorite cake that we always share! I helped him blow out the candles and then we got to dig in!
Maddox:
I am officially a walker! Though I have to say, my favorite mode of transportation is still the crawl. I will take a few steps in between objects but if the distance is too great, I drop to my knees and go. I have also taken to walking on my knees. Especially on the hardwood floor where it is too slippery for me to be confident.
The weather is getting nicer as spring approaches and we have been spending more time outdoors. Mommy has really been trying to get more excercise time in which means nice walks for us. We have gone down the the greenway a few times but we also just walk down the mailbox and back when in a pinch.
As sissy mentioned, we celebrated Nonno's birthday a week late because they had been out of town. We had a really nice evening and Nonna and Nonno brought up a couple of friends that were here visiting for the weekend. I had fun getting to know all of them!
I am definitely mommy's little side kick. I LOVE to be held so I can see what is going on in the world. When mommy does put me down I am right in the middle of things. I'm a great help unloading the dishwasher (though I'm best at taking the dirty dishes out and spreading them all over the floor), a huge help keeping the cupboards all neatly arranged, and a big help loading the dryer (though I truly spend more time crawling in and out of it or throwing the laundry out onto the floor)!! Mommy loves my help!!
