This summer we were invited to two weddings... one on mommy's side and one on daddy's. I was so excited that I get to go to both of them! Mommy's cousin Kyle got married the last weekend in July up on a Christmas Tree farm outside of Molalla (a little town up near Portland). Daddy was working and didn't get to go but mommy, Maddox, and I headed up and shared a hotel with Nonna and Nonno.
We arrived at the venue to find out that we had not been invited to the ceremony and were just getting to attend the reception. I was super bummed about that but in the end it worked out just fine. I met a lot of my cousins (Kyles brothers and sisters all have kiddos so there were a bunch of little ones running around) and we had a great time playing together. My favorite part of the whole thing was when the bride, my new cousin Claire, came over and asked me to dance with her. She was so beautiful and I felt so very special dancing with her!
Our second wedding was at a beautiful winery up in Roseburg and was for a cousin on Daddy's side of the family. Once again it was a beautiful day and I got to dance with the bride, Colleen! She was so pretty in her fancy dress!
Maddox:
Weddings are fun because you get to eat cake! That was all I really focused on at the first wedding! The cake was out for everyone to see and I kept asking about it... over, and over, and over again! Mommy was a bit worried that I might even knock the cake over because I spent so much time staring at it! When it came time to finally cut the cake, I attached myself to my cousin Kyles leg (he didn't even know who I was), grabbed his tie, and even gave him a kiss on the bum!
My other fascination at the wedding was my with my cousin Lucy. She was so beautiful in her blue dress and I followed her everywhere. Mommy even caught me trying to steal a kiss from her even though I had to stand on my tippy toes to do it! When we left that night and went back to the hotel I laid in the bathtub and sang... "Lucy, Lucy, Lucy Lu" though because of my accent it came out "Wucy, Wucy, Wucy, Wu"!
