This last week was the 4th of July and since it landed on a Friday mommy had four days off in a row! So we packed up our stuff and drove down to see Pica and Grammie for the weekend. We left Thursday night after work and drove as far as Susanville where we got a hotel for the night. (That was a complete disaster!!). Then, we got up early on Friday and drove the rest of the way in. Unfortunately mommy had to take me to the emergency room about two hours after we got there so our trip had a pretty rough start. Once they figured out what was wrong with me we were able to enjoy the rest of the weekend though I was feeling pretty under the weather a lot of the time.
Pica and Grammie took us to see the fireworks... My very first time! We actually watched them from the park right down the street from their house. I was a bit scared at first because they made really loud noises but after a while I really enjoyed them. My favorites were the orange ones!!
One of the days we were there we all went swimming at a really neat pool. They had indoor and outdoor sections and a huge area just for kiddos my size. The water was only a foot deep, there were little sprinklers to run through, and big buckets that dumped lots of water on your head. I didn't really like that part but I thought it was awful funny to watch my mommy do it.
Another day they took us to a park at Bowers Mansion... A place my mommy used to go when she was a little girl. It was pretty hot that day and I still wasn't feeling the best but I tried to have fun still. Pica, mommy and I played on all of the toys and we had a really nice pic-nic.
I really had a pretty great weekend... Plenty of quality time with my Pica playing ball and just being silly (I really thought it was fun to squirt him with a squirt bottle) and lots of snuggle time with Grammie. I can't wait to go back next month.
