Maren:
Summer is winding down and we are starting to talk about school and make plans for the fall. We still don't really know what is going to happen with school just yet as Covid is still causing a ruckus everywhere. Lots of things are still shut down and outdoor activities are the only sure thing. Thankfully we have the property so we can enjoy the weather while it is still nice. We also haven't had any fires this summer so the air is still clear.
My birthday this year was a quieter version of what we normally do but it was still great fun. Having a smaller party was what I really wanted anyway so that I could spend quality time with the people that matter most to me. We rented a big blow up jump house again and I asked that Anna come over early. After we got a few hours of play time together the Oppelts and Wyatt showed up to finish the group off. We all had a really great time playing together, had wonderful cake, and I got tons of great presents. I think having a smaller group was actually much better because mommy even got to sit back and relax a little bit instead of having to run around and take care of everyone.

Our last big excursion for the summer was a really great camping trip up to Briggs Creek. We have been there once before but this time we decided to stay in the campground that is designated for livestock. Daddy packed up the goats to go with us as he is trying to get them ready for the upcoming hunting season. Our campground was right near a creek and we were the only ones in the whole place! Sissy and I had a great time riding out bikes around and around the circle, playing in the ice cold creek, and catching crawdads that we then cooked for dinner one night. There were a lot of people in the campground down the way from us that would drive through on their quads just to see the goats. They thought it was pretty funny to see them wandering around the camp! After a while mommy said "I feel like we are animals at the zoo with everyone driving by to see us!"
