Maren:
Wow!! I don't even know where to begin!! We just had one heck of a vacation!!
Just like last year my mommy volunteered to fly Hayden and Jimi home after they had been here for almost a month. So, she loaded baby brother and I in the car and we headed to Reno to pick them up. I was really excited to spend the day with my Aunt Deb and all my cousins, but on the way there we found out that Uncle Ian, Grammie, and Smith were all really sick. Mommy was super afraid to expose us before we left on a big trip so we had to hang around and wait until our flight left (which was midnight). So, we took our time driving to Reno and made lots of stops. We stopped in Susanville for a few hours to stretch our legs and play in the park. I got to give Maddox his very first pushes in a swing and I think he really enjoyed it.
Our flight back east was a "red eye" but thankfully it was non-stop. A lot of people in the airport thought my mommy was crazy for traveling with four kids but we were all really good for her. Just after the flight took off I procliamed to my mommy "this is my flight to see my Auntie C's... And I am NOT sleeping!" I did my best to fight it but eventually gave in and slept for about two hours total. I bounced right out of my seat when we landed because I was so excited to see my Uncle Pom (that's what I call Uncle Tom) but I passed out again in the car on the way home. With only three hours of sleep in a 24 hour period of time I was exhausted. I played hard all that first day and when my head hit the pillow that night I slept 16 hours straight!
We spent a lot of time just hanging out at the house and playing (they have a pool and a tree house). Auntie C bought me a special floatie and I had a blast in the pool. We played dress up a lot and just played continuously. I had so much fun with my cousins.
One of the days we went to a Six Flags amusement park and I blew everyone's minds! I rode so many rides... Some that I was barely big enough to ride and a lot that my mommy thought would scare me, but I was a champ!! When I was riding a big roller coaster with mommy and we were going down a really steep hill I said "this is the worstest part... (And just after, I said)...this is the funnest part... WEEEEE!!"
The next day we went to a really big water park called Hurricane Harbor. I wasn't big enough to go on most of the slides but I had a lot of fun playing in the section for the little people like me.
Unfortunately our trip had to come to an end and our flight home was once again really late (we left Jersey at 8:00 at night and landed in Reno at 11:00). I slept for a while and was totally passed out when the plane landed. Thank God the flight attendants were willing to help and one of them carried me off the plane and put me in the stroller for my mommy. We got very little sleep that night and then had a long drive home the following morning. Yucky way to end an awesome trip!
Maddox:
My first vacation was a whirlwind of activity and I won't remember a second of it!! My first plane ride, I was an angel and slept the whole way of course. The time change was a bit difficult for me and I didn't sleep really well while we were there, which of course meant my mommy didn't sleep well either. It didn't help that I was in the same room as her and I knew it! So, when I would wake up I would spin my head around in my crib looking and would cry louder when I finally spotted her! She finally got smart and moved to a different room the last few nights.
I had a lot of fun playing with my cousins, my Auntie C, and my Uncle Tom... The house was a constant bustle. The pool was fun once I got used to how cold the water was but I did not appreciate being splashed at all! My Auntie borrowed a walker from some friends and I had a lot of fun in that... So much that mommy ordered one and had it waiting for us when we got home.
I had a lot of fun at the water park and spent most of my day splashing in the water with my Auntie C while mommy rode on all of the big slides with Hayden.
