Adventures in Fall

Maren:  It has been a beautiful start to the fall, school is in full swing and we are all healthy and happy.  I have signed up for volleyball this year, playing with the Junior Comets, and I am really loving it!  Mommy takes me to practice most nights and helps the coach a lot.  She's been working with me a lot on my skills while we are at home and I am improving a ton.  School has been fun so far and our new teacher is already doing a lot of great stuff in the classroom.  One beautiful fall day we took a field trip to SOU to visit the anthropology department and take a tour of their museum.

One major bummer of our fall... one thing we would really love to forget... is our discovery of head lice!  While we were on our trip to Almanor I was complaining about my head itching again.  It had been going on for a while and mommy had checked me a number of times but had never found anything.  Well, standing on the edge of the lake in the bright sunshine, she was able to see a lot.  Of course, I was very upset about the issue and mommy drove all the way back to Susanville to get a treatment kit for me.  It was a long night of repeat shampoos and combing (cuz I had shared them with mommy too) and then we had to head home for major house cleaning.  What a horrible thing!

I decided to try volleyball this fall so mommy signed me up for the Junior Comets (a local club through District 6 that offers sports for kids that aren't in middle school yet) and it was a LOT of fun.  My bestie Amelia was on my team too!  We had practices twice a week and games on Saturdays.  Our team made a lot progress through the season and by the time it ended we were playing really well.  Next season mommy is talking about coaching my team!  I can't wait!

Maddox:

School has been back in session for about a month now and fall has been beautiful.  As soon as it becomes October I start planning for Halloween!  I love fall, the pretty colors and the beautiful weather that lets me be outside again without horrible heat.  For Halloween sissy and I wanted to dress up as a family so we decided to do a Star Wars theme.  I was Luke Skywalker, Daddy was Han Solo, Mommy was Princess Leah, and Maren was the Mandalorian!  We looked so cool!

The first weekend of the month we went down to Almanor and stayed a few nights with Uncle Bill.  Our main goal was to do some upkeep on Gigi and Great Grandpa Bill's grave site.  It has been a while since Nonna has done some upkeep and she has been wanting to get down there.  It was a beautiful weekend.  Even though it wasn't quite hot enough for us to swim, Clementine tried her hand in it and was retrieving sticks from the lake when we threw them for her!  So cute!

The week following our trip to Almanor, Maren, mommy and I went back to Reno so that mommy could attend a conference for work.  We all stayed with Pica and Grammie which was a lot of fun.  Pica took us on adventures every day and we got to spend a lot of time with Fletcher.
