A special birthday

Last week my best friend Jace turned 2!  My mommy, Nonna, and I got to go to his house for a Rootin', Tootin', Straight Shootin' Cowboy (and girl) Party! We played lots of games... Like horseshoes (Miss Heather made special felt ones that we could throw) and horse lassoing and I even got my very own horse!! I named him "Baby Blue"!  All of us kids had horse races but since Jace and I were the youngest ones there (all of Jaces' older cousins were at the party) we didn't really understand what was going on. So, when Grandma Sue (that's Jaces' grandma) said "Go"... Jace and I just stood there!  Jace finally got the picture and took off running but I still stood there and watched everyone else running. Finally Grandma Sue took my hand and got me going... And then you couldn't stop me! Me and my horse are really fast!!  It was a great party and I had lots of fun. 

The following day we went to church and mommy got me dressed in a very special dress that my G.G. made for her when she was a little girl. I was very proud of it and told everyone who asked exactly who made it!

My first haircut

Today I had my very first haircut! It was really just a trim to take off the fuzzy ends (Nonna said it would make my hair look thicker) and to trim my bangs cuz they keep getting in my eyes... But still, it was very exciting. I really liked putting the cape on and I sat super still for Nonna the entire time. I never even cried!  I think it probably helped that I got to watch my Nono do it first!

We got "Peep Peeps!"

Lots has been happening the last few weeks so we have to catch up with all of our fun events...

Last week on mommy's days off we had lots of fun. One day daddy got to be home too and we went to the park. We forgot to take food for the ducks but I had some apple slices that I shared! The geese really liked my apple snacks!  On her other day off we played outside on our property a lot.  It was really cold outside so I wanted to wear two outside hats, my boots, and a pair of mommy's gloves! We threw rocks in the creek (one of my favorite things to do) and we launched a bunch of "whirlybirds" off the bridge. Mommy couldn't get pictures of that because she was too busy holding on to me!

On Sunday we went to church and mommy dressed me up in a little top that she wore when she was a little girl. I looked adorable! I guess my G.G. made it for her a long, long time ago. 

Probably the most exciting day over the last few days was yesterday... When we got baby "peep peeps!" Thirteen little balls of fluffy fun! I got to help mommy and daddy feed them and give them water and then we just sat inside the coop for a really long time watching them. I liked petting them (only if mommy was holding them) but otherwise I didn't really want them to come too close! They moved super fast and it kinda scared me a bit!  I know that we are going to have a lot of fun with them and I can't wait to try real eggs! My mommy is going to have a hard time keeping me away from the coop... It was the very last thing I asked for before closing my eyes last night! 

So, not only was that special, but my Nonna and Nono showed up yesterday. My Nonna has an "owie knee" and will be having surgery next week. I don't really understand that... All I know is that she gets to stay at my house for three whole weeks!!

Old friends and one proud mommy!

This weekend my mommy and I got to take a special trip to Corvallis so that she could see some of her old vet school friends.  Otherwise this week was pretty routine though mommy and I did some fun stuff like we always do together. 

As you can see in my pictures, I really love the color orange. Whenever I get to pick out my outfit I always pick something orange, when we color or paint I always pick the orange paper, and my favorite pacifier is... You guessed it, ORANGE!!

Our trip to Corvallis was really fun even though it was only one night. We stayed with mommy's really good friend Emily and her family. I got to play with Miss Sophie and all of her fun toys! She had so many babies... I was in Heaven! My mommy got to go out to dinner with her friends while Miss Sophie, her baby sister and I stayed with a sitter. Then this morning we had breakfast at a really nice place that had a fun kids corner for me to play in and then we went to meet some of mommy's other friends. I got to meet Beth, Craig, and their two boys Noah, and Jacob. It was really fun to play with all of their boy stuff and they were really great about sharing with me.  Mommy as so busy talking all weekend that she kept forgetting  to take pictures of me!

On the way home I heard mommy talking to my daddy about how proud she was of me. She told him what a good girl I had been, how polite I was to everyone, and how well I did at sharing. She talked a lot about my calm nature and my kindness. A couple of times this weekend I got upset and when she asked me to take a deep breath to calm down I started breathing really deep in and out!  She thought that was pretty cute too! 

Some Big Milestones

 

This week has a big week for me in so many ways. I think we can officially say that I AM POTTY TRAINED!!! My mommy is over the moon excited! I am even waking up dry in the morning which is pretty nice too. 

This week we did a lot of fun stuff. We had a really nice day on Monday. The sun was shining from behind the clouds and we spent a lot of time outside. I played in my sandbox for the first time this year, we spent time looking at all the pretty moss on the rocks and trees (I wanted to pull it off until mommy explained that it was like a special blanket for the rocks and trees and that it helps keep them warm at night), and I played with all of my animals. 

Tuesday was a really big day for me... My first day in "Beginner Preschool". My mommy was really worried because I have been having a hard time when she leaves me lately. Now when she drops me off I am with a lot of older kids for a while until they separate us into our own classes... BUT I am doing really well and I am having lots of fun with my new friends. 

The rest of the week we just did a lot of playing... I did the 'Hokie Pokie' in my panties with my baby, I played 'night night' with my baby, played outside, and so much more... We had a lot of fun!
