Late last year a new virus appeared in China called the Coronavirus. It spreads quick and makes people really sick. Well, early this year it made its way to the United States and just a few short weeks ago we had our first case in Oregon. The governor of our state has followed the advice of a lot of medical professionals and decided to put our state on lock down. As a result, school was let out a week before spring break and we have been asked not to go anywhere essential. We can't even have play dates with our friends! The only place we can go right now is to Nonna and Nonnos' house. I don't really mind that so much but I do really miss seeing my friends and going to the ranch. I just don't really understand what this is all about and I have cried many times to my mommy because I am really afraid. All that the adults are talking about is how serious this virus is and it has me really scared for my family. Mommy does her best to make me feel better but it is all very scary.
I do really love going to Nonnas house... she is really trying to make it special for us. She has devised all kinds of projects for us to keep us busy. I have been doing all of my school work at home which I don't really care for but mommy says I have to!
Maddox:
I'm not gonna lie... this whole lock down thing doesn't really phase me a bit! I'm thrilled that I don't have to go to school anymore and that I get to stay home every day and play. The only really bad thing about it is that we aren't allowed to be around daddy right now at all. Just after the virus showed up in the Medford area daddy was exposed to a woman who tested positive. Just a few days later he got sick too but even before that he and mommy decided that it would be best for us to keep away from him in order to protect Nonna and Nonno. So, for now, he is sleeping in the camper and is only allowed in the house if he is wearing a mask. He isn't even allowed to touch anything or sit on the furniture because we are all so worried. Luckily the weather has been really nice and we are allowed to "be around" daddy outside of the house. We still can't touch him and have to stay at least 6 feet away but he is really creative at finding ways for us to spend time together.
