Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Maren:
December is here and Christmas is in the air!  We were excited to welcome Sparkle our Elf back and are happy to say that she is up to her normal shenanigans!  The silliest thing she has done so far is to change out my clothes when mommy wasn't looking because she felt like what mommy picked was a bit boring!  I thought that was very silly!  She has also been found making snowmen, zip lining, taking a tubby in a frozen bowl of water, etc.  I get a kick out of her every morning and love finding her around the house.
The first weekend of the month we really just hunkered down to get caught up with Christmas.  Mommy had been out of town four weekends in a row and was feeling pretty run down.  We had a great weekend at home together as a family.  We started off by having breakfast with Santa at our local grange.  The PTA at my school has a special relationship with Santa and he flew down for the morning so we could eat pancakes and sit on his lap!  I made sure that I gave him a big hug and then asked for a puppy!  After breakfast once we were on the dirt roads I sat right up next to mommy and helped pick out a beautiful tree.  I love helping mommy get out all of the decorations for Christmas and making the house a winter wonderland.

Maddox:
Christmas is coming and I love all of the excitement.  I am pretty clear in one thing... I want a tractor with a trailer behind it and that is about it!  Occasionally I will tell mommy that "I don't want a present" when I am being a bit bad and she warns me about Sparkle but we all know that's not true!  As for Sparkle, I like to push the boundaries on that and am commonly found poking her when I think no one is looking.  Thankfully Santa understands and is willing to forgive poor judgement on the part of a 2 year old and she has yet to loose her magic but I doubt he will be as forgiving next year!
Sissy mentioned breakfast with Santa... that was super fun but she forgot to mention the Nacho Movie night we had on Friday to kick off the weekend!  For breakfast on Saturday morning Mommy and daddy weren't sure if I would be afraid of Santa but I ran straight up and gave him a big hug before sissy even had a chance to get there!  I asked him for a tractor and told him what a good boy I had been.  After breakfast we drove up to the mountains and found a beautiful tree for the house.  We spent a fun afternoon decorating the tree, setting up the train, and having cocoa!  Most of the weekend was spent around the house and getting out decorations.  Unfortunately it ended pretty bad for me on Sunday when sissy picked me up and then fell on me.  She landed on my foot really hard!  I cried and held my foot until I fell asleep in mommys arms.  When I woke up from my nap my foot was really swollen and blue and I would not walk on it without crying.  Mommy decided to take me in for a radiograph and they found out that one of the bones in my foot was broken. Because it was so swollen they didn't put it in a cast but wrapped it up in a nice soft bandage to help protect it.
