So much to be thankful for

 Maren:

We have settled into a great routine with school and I am really loving my class, my teacher, and my friends.  This school is turning out to be exactly what I needed to get moving educationally again.  This year our good family friends, the Oppelts, are also in the CAMP program which is really great.  This month, our project focus was on business development.  We each got to work with a partner to make our own business and then got to sell our goods to the other kids in the program.  I worked with Isabelle to design a business called "Nails and Nibbles".   I made cupcakes (chocolate and vanilla with white chocolate ganache and salted caramel drizzle) and Isabelle made vegan brownies.  I also brought a bunch of fingernail polish and nail stickers and painted kids nails!  All of the kids in the program got some time to shop and we even got a visit from the school principle, Mr. Dipple!  In the end Isabelle and I made the most money in our business but we all had a really great time and learned so much!

Thanksgiving this year was a wonderful event at our house.  Uncle Frankie, Michelle, Micah, and James were here along with Marc Boone and his mother Maria.  Of course, our special guest of honor was our Pica who drove up from Reno.  Mommy and Michelle had a great time cooking a wonderful meal and we enjoyed an amazing day of games and laughter.  After everyone left for the evening, Pica broke out his guitar and sang us some songs.  A perfect way to end an amazing day.

Maddox:

Veterans Day is in November and we got to celebrate it in a special way at school this year.  My teacher, Miss Jenny, had us bring in pictures of people that we know that were in the service.  I took pictures of my daddy and my Pica.  In class we got to make Purple Heart buttons and Poppy flowers to honor all of the people that have served in our country.  Now I have the pictures hanging by my bed to look at every night!

Thanksgiving was really special as sister mentioned and it fell really late in the month.  Mommy was really excited to get decorations up for Christmas this year so we decided to start a bit early.  The weekend while Pica was visiting we went up the hill in search of our Christmas trees.  Mommy, sissy, and I all picked really nice cedar trees which we promptly took home to decorate.  It was nice to have Pica with us for the tree hunt and to help us decorate afterwards.
