Still on Lockdown-ish

Maren:
The corona virus is still out there but numbers here in Jackson County have been holding steady at a pretty low level.  We have been on lock down for quite a while now with no activities outside of the house except to see Nonna and Nonno.  We are doing ok but daddy is really getting restless!  The first weekend in May we had really great weather and decided to have an outdoor excursion to get out of the house.  Daddy found a small pond up in the Illinois Wilderness that is really remote so we packed our stuff for a quiet day outside.  Much to our surprise, when we got there, we found that the little pond was very popular!  There were people everywhere!  Despite that, we were able to find a little isolated spot on the beach to play in the water and launch our canoe.
At the end of the month mommy and daddy celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary!  Since restaurants are all closed due to the pandemic Nonna planned a very special night for them.  She made a really yummy dinner and then Maddox and I were their servers!  Mommy and daddy say that it was their very best anniversary ever!  I dressed up in the fancy dress mommy made for me and was the lead server.  I got to read the menu and take down their orders, then it was my responsibility to serve daddy his food and drinks.  It was so much fun!

Maddox:
There's a lot of hub bub about the corona virus these days and we are all going a bit crazy.  For the most part I have been happy staying home.  Give me a pile of legos and that's all I need!  However, as time has gone on, I have found that my sister drives me nuts!  She and I have been fighting off and on between great moments of good sharing and play time so mommy has been doing her best to give us time apart.  Luckily Maren is able to get to the ranch quite a bit which helps us both and we take turns having special days at Nonnas but it was nice to finally get out and get up in the woods like Maren mentioned.
When it came to mommy and daddy's anniversary I was such a little professional!  I took my job as the host very seriously!  I proudly seated my mommy all of her food and drinks and never even spilled a bit.  Once sissy and I served them we sat right inside the screen door so we could watch eat our dinner too.
