November is full of fun and thankfulness

Maren:
I have really been spending a lot of time at the ranch lately... I go twice weekly now after school.  One day I do a pleasure ride on Jack and spend lots of time giving him extra love.  The other day is when I get my lesson on my favorite boy Phoenix.  I have some so far on him since this summer and am now able to handle him on my own.  Sonja has given me a lot more responsibilities and I am loving it.  Unfortunately I had another run in with AJ the other day when he decided to kick me in the leg.  He kicked me so hard that I landed on my face in the footing.  I had quite the swollen face, black eye and road rash from it not to mention a doozy of a bruise on my leg.  Showing my tenacity, I didn't let it phase me and was back a few days later for a ride!
I also have had the opportunity to visit Cindy out at the Benson Ranch a couple of times.  She is helping me learn how to do clicker training with the puppies and I really enjoy it.  She is also teaching me a lot about how to work with animals as their partner so they respect me and what I say.  I really love going and helping her on the ranch and I get to play with little bundles of fluff too!
Thanksgiving came and went pretty quickly and we once again enjoyed a visit from Pica and Grammie.  And, as expected, our resident Elf Sparkle showed up right after Thanksgiving!  We always forget that she is coming so it is always a really fun surprise.  This year she actually showed up in the mail!  She came in a large envelope, but it was just a bit too small for her, so her legs were sticking out the bottom.  Oh that made me laugh!

Maddox:
We are one month closer to Christmas!  I ask mommy about it every day and then I ask her about my birthday.  We got an Amazon toy catalog in the mail the other day and I very carefully went through it and picked out all of the things that I wanted.  I have quite the list!
One day this month we did a little house shake up with the Oppelt family.  Sister went over there for a slumber party with Caleb and Emma, Lilly, and Owen came over here to stay and play!  Lots of fun was had in both places.
Now that Halloween is over we have tons of candy left over as usual.  Mommy came up with a great idea for the extras... we made rice crispy treats with chopped up candy bars.  They turned out so yummy!  Sister and I got to help cut up the snickers bars, twix, kit-kats, and such to add then we dumped in a bunch of bags of M&M's to finish them off.  Best rice crispy treats ever! After we made the treats we killed a pomegranate fair and square!  Both sister and I had a blast making a huge mess while we ate it.
Thanksgiving was a great time... Pica and Grammie came as always but unfortunately had to leave a bit early because of bad weather.  We enjoyed the time with them, as always though.  I got some good wrestling in with Pica and both sister and I loved to listen to him play his guitar.
Even though I am getting older, I am still such a snuggle bug.  I am very poetic with my words and love to shower mommy with sweet sayings.  The other night I was cuddling with her in the rocking chair and I said, "Mommy, will you sing me a song please?"  She asked which song I wanted to hear and I replied "The ones you used to sing to me when I was a baby... I sure miss the good ole days".  I think her heart may have melted just a bit on that one!  To finish her off, the very next night I said, "Mommy, I'm a super hero!  Do you know what my super power is?  It's loving you"!
