This last weekend was Memorial Day and we had a house full. Since it was a long weekend Pica and Grammy got to come because they had an extra day off work. To make the whole thing better, they brought Aunt Deb, Uncle Ian, Smith, June, and baby Fletcher with them! They all arrived Friday evening and even though we spent the whole weekend at home, we had a blast. June and Smith were really excited to sleep in our camper so they crashed in there. I didn't want to let June out of my sight but was pretty bummed that she didn't want to stay inside and play with all of my toys. I tried to make the best of it and showed her my play structure, my swing set, and played lots of ladder ball with her. We had campfires every night, made hobo dinners, and roasted lots of marshmallows! It was a great weekend!
Maddox:
As sissy mentioned, Pica and Grammy came to visit last weekend. I was really excited to see Pica and was especially happy that he brought his guitar. I asked him to play "The Cat Came Back" over and over again. We stayed pretty busy most of the weekend playing outside, exploring the creek, riding the four wheeler, and playing games. One of the nights we slept out in the elk tent with cousin June and mommy.
I have been a little bit of a stinker lately and mommy has been struggling with me. When I get angry, sad, etc. I have a really hard time controlling my emotions and I tent to react by hitting, kicking, pushing, or trying to bite. Mommy reached her limit with me this last weekend when I got mad because she was reading sissy one of my books (silly, I know). I made her cry because she was so sad and didn't want to hit me back. Ultimately, she resorted to giving me a cold shower to cool my jets... It worked! Since mommy and daddy have been trying to reward my good behavior with little special treats! Sugar free jelly beans, M&M's, and such are great ways to remind me that sharing, playing nice, and speaking kindly is the best way to handle things!
