Camping with Pica!

Maren:
Every year our Pica loads up and takes all of the cousins (Hayden, Jimi, Smith, Adelaide, and June) camping.  Usually they go to a lake down in Nevada that is about 7 hours away from our house.  Mommy has been begging and begging Pica to come closer and this year he did and we got to go!  Pica and Auntie C loaded up enough food and supplies for a week of camping, drove up to Lake Almanor and found a nice campsite.  We made the trip down on a Friday morning and got to stay until Monday.
I had an absolute blast hanging out with my cousins.  Unfortunately our site was not directly on the lake but mommy, Auntie C and the big boys did a really great job at hauling all of our stuff down every day.  We had floaties galore... boats, tubes, and big beach balls to play with and a nice little protected cove to play in the water.  It was the first time that I got to spread my water wings and really try out my swimming skills in the lake.  I have to admit that it was a bit intimidating, but I really had lots of fun playing.
I loved being surrounded by my cousins and even got to share a tent with Jimi!  We had a great time around the campfire every night roasting marshmallows, listening to Hayden play his ukulele, and singing songs.  It was awesome to finally be a part of the family campout!

Maddox:
I love camping!  As sissy mentioned we had a really good time with Pica and the cousins.  Our campsite was in a great spot in the trees with lots of big rocks to climb on and some really soft dirt that I loved to play in with my tractors.  Since I spent a lot of time playing in the dirt, I was pretty grubby when I wasn't playing in the lake.  Here is the dialogue from a video that mommy took of me ( I happened to be sitting on the potty at the time):
Mommy: What are you doing?
Maddox: Poopin'
Mommy: Where are we?
Maddox: Uh... at campsite
Mommy: What are we doing?
Maddox: Uh... we got no house right hee-ah (here)
Mommy: Look at mommy.  Whats all over your face?
Maddox: Duht (dirt)
Mommy: Laughing... What?
Maddox:  Some duht
Mommy: Show me your hands.Whats on your hands?
Maddox:  Duht
It was a great trip overall.  Mommy had a new little life vest for me and I did some serious playing in the lake.  Auntie C brought me my very own floatie tube that had a squirt gun built right in!  I had a blast floating and squirting everyone!
