Maren:
Spring is definitely here and we are so glad to be outside again. With the nice weather we are taking every opportunity to be outside before it becomes too hot again. I am still taking lessons weekly at the ranch and I am also trying to get there once a week to do a schooling ride... a ride with no pressure where I just get to have fun. The ranch is still my happy place and I love to be there whenever I can.
Mothers Day came on a beautiful day this year and we had the pleasure of sharing the day with Nonna. A local vineyard has an annual kite festival that we have been to in the past and we decided to go this year. It was a perfect day, mommy, Nonna, and daddy enjoyed some wine while we all shared a really great pic-nic. We brought our kite from home and did some flying too! There were quite a few other people there with kites and mommy ran into a client of hers from the clinic. He had a really cool trick kite and allowed me to help him launch it a couple of times. I took my hand at the flying part but it was pretty hard and the only thing I really succeeded at was crashing it!
School is winding down for the year with only a few weeks left. Since we have had such a strange year and only a small amount of time to get to know one another mommy connected with the teachers and planned a party for both of the classes. She rented a bounce house/obstacle course and a big water slide for everyone to play on! We had a blast playing together. Lots of parents came too which gave mommy and daddy time to get to know people.
To finish off our month Aunt Kristy came to visit for the weekend. She and mommy got a few nights together to catch up, got to go for a nice hike and to a winery for lunch. Much needed girl time!

Spring is finally here! With the nice weather I have been itching to go camping and get that camper out! We loaded up for our first trip of the season and headed to Indian Mary. Close to home, easy to get to and loads of fun! The weekend we went turned out beautiful and there were tons of other kids in the campground that we got to play with. We spent one of the days down at the boat launch playing in the river with a bunch of other kiddos and while we were down there the Oppelt family floated by in their raft!
Our strawberry patch has kicked it into high gear and we have had strawberries coming out of our ears. I really wanted to make some home made jam so I got to be mommies assistant with a batch. I was so good at helping her trim the stems and slice them up. Jam is definitely better when its homemade right from berries that you've picked from your garden.
Memorial Day weekend is traditionally a weekend where Pica and Grammie come to visit since they have a few extra days off. They didn't get to come last year because of the Covid scare so it was really nice to have them up. They only stayed for a few nights and then finished their trip with a drive over to the coast but we sure enjoyed their company while they were here. We took them on the Jet Boat excursion down the Rogue and had dinner one of the nights they were here. Pica also has been trying to teach us to play the guitar via FaceTime chats but we got to have a real live lesson while he was here. I'm still having some difficult due to my small hands but we gave it a go!
