More Family Fun

Maren:
On my Nonna's birthday Auntie C, Hayden and I loaded up in the truck and headed home.  I really missed my mommy but I think she may have missed me more.  When I pulled into the driveway she wouldn't let me go for what seemed like hours!  Now we have Auntie C, Hayden and Jimi here for a whole week of fun and activities!
We usually pack so many things into the time that they are here and we all end up exhausted.  This year, we decided that a lot of fun can be had just hanging together at our home base and not going crazy with excursions.  Don't get me wrong, we did tons of fun stuff!
One of the best days was when we all went rafting.  Well, Nonna and Nonno didn't come with us but they did bring us a really nice lunch and meet us at Indian Mary Park.  We rafted the Hogs Creek to Galice section and Hayden rode in a kayak the whole way and he only fell out one time!
We celebrated the 4th of July with them here this year.   We were all at Nonnas for the day... with some swimming over at Momma Chewies' pool, good food, and fireworks thanks to a few of Nonna and Nonnos neighbors.  They put on quite a show but we had some pretty good ones this year too!

Now that Auntie C and Hayden are up here the fun is really happening.  I even think that I was excited to have my sister home!
I think one of the biggest things that I was excited for was sleeping out in the fort. Mommy got it all set up for us so that we would be comfortable.... she even borrowed a bunk bed cot system from the Oppelt family so that we would all have a bed to sleep on!  Most of the nights mommy slept out with us too!
This year we all hiked to Rainie Falls one day and I was a champ!  I hiked most of the way there and back with a few little piggy back rests.  After the hike we stopped at Galice Resort for a well deserved ice cream!
One of the best activities was when we went to the water slides at Emigrant Lake down in Ashland.  None of us have been before but it was a blast.  I was so super brave that I went down the slides all by myself even though they would let me ride on someones lap.  The only bummer part of the day was that the water was really super cold and the wind was blowing.  So, for every few trips up the slide we would have to sit and warm up in the sun.
