Welcome 2019

Maren:
We had the first week of the new year off from school which gave us the opportunity to rest from the busy holidays.  Mommy was working on some sewing and I asked her to make me a blanket for my new baby Rosie.  She thought it might be fun for me to make it on my very own.  She had some pieces of fabric that GiGi cut out a long time ago!  I picked through the fabric and chose the pieces I liked the very best.  Mommy and her friend Miss Paige helped me lay them out in a nice pattern and then mommy set me up on the sewing machine.  She showed me how to sew a few together and then she had me help with a few. After that I was on my own!  It took me a bit of time to get the hang of it, but before long I had my very own little blanket top.  Mommy helped me put the backing on and then I got to quilt it together with some pretty pink embroidery thread.  Now I'm going to make another blanket for Margaret and Ariel.
I had a pretty big trip to the orthodontist recently.  Mommy has been watching my teeth since I was a very little girl and noticing that they seemed a bit crowded.  She talked to the dentist, then we met with an orthodontist, and they all agreed that some early intervention might be a good idea.  So, they are setting me up with a thing called a "rapid palatal expander" to help spread my teeth apart.  I was super brave for all of my appointments so far even though they did some things that hurt.

Maddox:
I loved sissy's long Christmas Break!  Having her home every day meant I always had someone to play with and we had tons of fun.  We played trucks, legos, dress up, fireman and so much more!  Mommy went on a trip in the middle of the month which I didn't like at all... she went to see Auntie C.C and I couldn't figure out why she didn't take us with her.  Daddy distracted us while she was gone with all sorts of shenanigans but I was sure relieved when she came home.
The biggest even for me was the celebration of my 4th birthday!  Unfortunately my actual birthday landed in the middle of the week and mommy and daddy both worked.  But, everyone woke me up that morning with a donut, candles, and a birthday song and then I got to spend the day with Nonna and Nonno.  Of course they spoiled me with lots of play time, lunch out, ice cream treats, and new toys.  By the time mommy got to the house in the evening I was over sugared, over tired, way grumpy but I had a super day!
