Growing up with Maren and Maddox: Kicking off the New Year

Maren:

Well... 2017 has started off a bit rough around here but things can only get better! Just after Christmas daddy got a pretty bad cold and then he decided to share it! Thankfully I declined his offer... but, mommy and Maddox both got pretty sick. Then, in the middle of all the sickness we had a huge snow storm! That wasn't too bad because we had lots of fun playing and sledding, but then the snow turned to ice and things got a bit crazy! A lot of trees fell down on our property and the roads around us and we didn't have power for 3 days! Nonna and Nonno came to the rescue and let us stay with them for a bit and Nonna spoiled us like crazy!
I'm still doing horse lessons and getting better with every ride. I even got to cantor for the first time! At first I was pretty scared to even try because Miss Sonya told me I would be going faster but, once I tried it that was all I wanted to do!
The last few weeks we have had some pretty fun slumber parties with Jace and Bella. Our parents decided to do a date night swap and it worked great. Maddox and I went over there first so our mommy and daddy could have a nice date and sleep in. Then, the following week Jace and Bella got to come to our house! We had so much fun playing and were really, really good! Mommy even took all of her snowflakes in the kitchen down that night because we were so good and just played with each other. I even got to share my easy bake oven with Jace and I taught him how to make cupcakes!

Maddox:
Boy! Winter time has really hit us hard! I'm not the biggest fan of the snow because its really cold! When I go outside to play, I absolutely refuse to keep my gloves on my hands. It doesn't take long for my fingers to get really cold and then I get super grumpy. But... put me on the tractor with my daddy and all of my troubles just melt away!

Our slumber parties with Jace and Bella have been a lot of fun. This is the first time I have spent the night with anyone other than my Nonna and Nonno so mommy was a bit nervous, but I did great! I didn't give Miss Heather any problems (though I did bite Bella once). I played really well, ate good, and slept better than anyone! When they came to our house I had a hard time sharing my toys, especially my vey-vey, but I eventually let Jace and Bella have some turns. Bella and I had some bonding moments in the potty room (just like Jace and sissy used to). We both would sit and read books while the other one was going potty. And speaking of potty.... I am totally rocking it! I'm so close! Almost there!
